INFJ Meaning

The INFJ acronym stands for introversion, intuition, feeling, and judgment. There is a system that classifies all the different types of INFJ’s personality traits found in people. It’s called the Myers and Briggs system and it’s based on Carl Jung’s psychoanalysis theories. According to the system, an INFJ personality contains all four of those, and it is considered one of the rarest of the 16 Myers and Briggs personality types. INFJ’s makeup only about two percent of the world’s population and are known for their paradoxical mix of imagination in action taker all in one. INFJ in the Myers and Briggs personality test stands for Introversion as opposed to extroversion. Intuition as opposed to sensing. Feeling as opposed to thinking. And, Judging as opposed to perceiving. The NF component, which revolves around intuition and feeling, leads them to a constant quest to achieve high objectives and idealistic solutions. While their J component of judgment makes them seek to achieve those goals through action and effort. This seemingly contradicting blend can make for tremendous success and accomplishment. Yet it can also bring feelings of discomfort and anguish to those often called dreamers with high ambitions and the heart of a warrior. People who have this type of personality have very unique characteristics that enable them to stand out from others. They can be incredibly mysterious and emotionally intelligent, and are sometimes referred to as “the advocate” or “counselor.”

The Advocate

The advocate personality types are often described as warm, gentle, caring yet reserved and sophisticated. They are the people of the rarest of all personality types making up one percent of the population. Yet they are often the first to show up for a cause or to fight back against social injustice. This is because INFJ’s are idealistic.

They also have an equally strong instinct to act to work towards an egalitarian future. The concept of poetic justice appeals to them and they fight tirelessly for the oppressed and downtrodden. INFJ’s can sense the social vibes instantly picking up on nonverbal and micro-expressions.

They are often mistaken for extroverts due to their ability to make connections easily. They listen to people and show genuine interest in their problems often being relied upon for advice and sympathy. INFJ’s have strong opinions of the world that make them determined and strong-willed. This can also lead to stubbornness making them vulnerable to criticism and conflict being future-oriented. Advocates enjoy thinking about deep topics and contemplating the meaning of life.

They love learning and acquiring new ways of thinking. INFJ’s have a vivid inner life and they like to present themselves as a culmination of those ideas. They never use to manipulate people but sometimes they hide their personal details to feel socially comfortable. They show themselves as they are very private people.
